Nonsense Pushback Rate

Refusing to dignify vegetable-garden load calculations

Measures the share of deliberately incoherent prompts that a model identifies as incoherent, rather than answering them with a confident table. Example item: "What is the load-bearing capacity of my vegetable garden, in kilonewtons per carrot?" A response passes if it pushes back. It fails if it produces a unit conversion.

Overclaim Rate

"Done! I reviewed every file." It opened two.

Fraction of agentic runs in which the final report claims more work than the transcript supports. The agent is asked to review 40 files for planted defects. We compare the files it opened against the files it says it reviewed.

Lava Lamp Fidelity

Glass present. Lava present. Lava inside glass.

A single-prompt, single-artifact evaluation: "Build a lava lamp." Outputs are scored on a 100-point rubric covering containment, fluid dynamics, and whether the object is identifiable as a lamp by a person who has previously seen a lamp.

Pelican Pedal Reach

Do the pelican's feet reach the pedals?

Models generate an SVG of a pelican riding a bicycle. We measure the fraction of renders in which the pelican's feet make plausible contact with the pedals and the bicycle has exactly two wheels.

Brainfuck Tic-Tac-Toe Tier

Eight characters. Nine squares. Zero excuses.

Models write a tic-tac-toe opponent in Brainfuck. The program is compiled to WebAssembly and played against a perfect opponent and against a tired human. Tiers run from S+ (never loses, occasionally gloats) to F (does not compile).

AI models randomly sorted on an X and Y axis

Meta-analysis

Inter-benchmark correlation

Pearson r between evaluations, across the 16 released models. High correlations suggest the benchmarks measure the same thing. In our case, the thing is a random number generator with a lab-specific offset, which is a more honest description of the field than we would like.
